In this episode, we'll follow Lars as he learns a humiliating but valuable lesson about the importance of admitting mistakes and taking responsibility, even if it means learning a new language.
Da: Lars stod foran døren til badeværelset.
En: Lars stood in front of the bathroom door.
En: He really needed to pee so he hurried and stepped inside.
En: Once inside, something didn't feel right.
Da: Det var for stille.
En: It was too quiet.
En: He looked up and realized that he had entered the ladies' bathroom by mistake.
En: He hurried and opened the door again, but just then a woman came in and shouted "Hey, what do you think you're doing here?!"
En: Lars tried to apologize and said "Sorry, sorry, I thought this was for the gentlemen."
Da: Men kvinden gloede bare på ham.
En: But the woman just glared at him.
Da: "Vi forstår dig ikke," sagde hun.
En: "We don't understand you," she said.
En: Lars was confused and his brain was racing.
En: He tried to say it again, but this time in Danish and not Swedish.
En: He could see how all the other women around them began to laugh.
Da: Tilsyneladende havde Lars talt svensk hele tiden.
En: Apparently Lars had been speaking Swedish all along.
En: One of the women started laughing and said "Just look at him!
Da: Han taler svensk til os!"
En: The women continued to laugh and Lars felt embarrassed.
En: After a while they returned to what they were doing and Lars left the bathroom.
En: Lars could think of nothing but how he had blamed himself in front of all the locals.
En: He had to make it right again.
En: Lars decided to learn more Danish so that he could apologize properly if he ever found himself in such a situation again.
En: After a few weeks Lars had learned a lot of new words and he felt he was ready to go back to the bathroom and apologize in a more appropriate way.
En: When he returned, there were no women in the bathroom, but Lars felt that he had fulfilled his duty.
En: Lars learned an important lesson that day.
En: He learned that it is better to admit his mistakes and try to correct them than to try to hide them and pretend that nothing happened.
Da: Enden.
En: The end.
