Story Transcript:
En: One cold autumn morning, Milan woke up with a strong desire for a warm cup of coffee.

Sr: Oblačio se brzo i uputio u svoju omiljenu kafanu, gde su ga uvek sačekale prijatne kelnerice i miris sveže pečenog hleba.
En: He quickly got dressed and headed to his favorite café, where pleasant waitresses and the smell of freshly baked bread always awaited him.

En: The café was full. Cigarette smoke filled the air as the old gramophone tirelessly played melodies that brought back memories of the past.

En: At the table near the window, where the light peeked through the thick fog, sat Ana and Jovan. They had been best friends since childhood and always met at the café before work to exchange new stories and plans for the day.

En: Milan ordered coffee and sat at a nearby table. The waitress brought the coffee, and as he gazed at the newspaper, he reached for the sugar.

Bez gledanja, posuo je sadržaj u šolju crne kafe i lagano promešao.
En: However, instead of sugar, his hand grabbed the salt shaker. Without looking, he poured its contents into his cup of black coffee and stirred it lightly.

En: The first sip was awful. The bitterness and saltiness took over Milan’s mouth. His expression quickly changed from relaxed concentration to a surprised grimace.

En: Ana and Jovan immediately noticed that something was wrong.

Sr: Jovan je, znatiželjan i brže bolje, upitao: “Milane, šta ti je? Jesi li dobro?”
En: Curious and eager, Jovan asked, “Milan, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”

En: Confused at first, Milan couldn’t respond. He was trying to understand what had just happened.

Sr: Nakon nekoliko sekundi neugodne tišine, Milan je ispljunuo kafu nazad u šolju i rekao: “Mislim da sam… umesto šećera… stavio so!”
En: After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, Milan spat out the coffee back into the cup and said, “I think I… accidentally put salt instead of sugar!”

En: Ana, who had been trying to hold back her laughter until then, couldn’t contain it any longer and burst into loud laughter.

En: Her laughter was contagious, and soon everyone in the café was laughing at Milan’s blunder, including Milan himself.

En: “See, Milan, you can’t trust the newspapers or even your own eyes!” joked Jovan after the laughter died down, handing Milan a new cup of coffee, this time with real sugar.

En: With a smile, Milan accepted the new cup. “I’ve learned my lesson,” he said. “Coffee and newspapers, but first, check what you’re putting in!”

En: So the morning in the café passed, with laughter and company that would remember the mix-up of salt and sugar.

Sr: Milan, Ana i Jovan su proveli ostatak dana u dobroj zabavi i šalama, a Milan nikada više nije pomešao so i šećer.
En: Milan, Ana, and Jovan spent the rest of the day in good spirits and jokes, and Milan never mixed up salt and sugar again.
