Lt: - Atsiprašau, gal galėtumėte man pasakyti, kur yra Artūro Gedimino kalnas?
En: "Excuse me, could you tell me where Gedimino Hill is?"

Lt: – paklausė jis, nemanėdamas, kad kalba su negyva figūra.
En: he asked, not realizing he was speaking to an inanimate figure.

Lt: Aišku, statula neatsakė.
En: Of course, the statue did not respond.

Lt: Gediminas pasijuto kiek kvailai, bet manė, kad galbūt mergina tiesiog yra užsisvajojusi ar kurčia.
En: Gediminas felt a bit silly, but thought that perhaps the girl was just daydreaming or deaf.

Lt: - Atrodo, labai įdomiai stovi čia.
En: "You seem to be standing very interestingly here.

Lt: Turistai turbūt dažnai sustoja pagrožėtis, - tęsė jis, nusijuokdamas pats sau.

Lt: Tuo metu pro šalį ėjo Ričardas ir Laima- du Gedimino draugai.

Lt: Jie pamatė Gediminą, kalbantį su statula, ir negalėjo susilaikyti nuo juoko.

Lt: – iš kartos klausė Ričardas.

Lt: Kai Gediminas suprato savo klaidą, jam taip pat tapo juokinga.

Lt: Jis suprato, kaip kvailai atrodo kalbėdamas su statula, kuri negalėjo atsakyti.
En: He realized how silly he looked talking to a statue that couldn't respond.

Lt: - Aš tik bandžiau užmegzti pokalbį, bet, regis, mano pašnekovė yra akmeninis paukštis, - tarė Gediminas, nesustodamas juoktis.
En: "I was just trying to strike up a conversation, but it seems my companion is a stone bird," Gediminas said, laughing uncontrollably.

Lt: Laima švelniai palytėjo Gedimino ranką ir tarė:- Kiekvienam pasitaiko nesusipratimų.
En: Laima gently patted Gediminas' hand and said:

"Everyone encounters misunderstandings.

Lt: Svarbiausia yra mokėti juoktis iš savęs.
En: The most important thing is to be able to laugh at yourself.

Lt: Be to, dabar turime puikią istoriją, kurią galėsime pasakoti draugams.

Lt: Tądien jie ilgai juokėsi prie tos statulos ir leido laiką drauge, mėgaudamiesi senamiesčio vaizdais ir pasakojimais.
En: That day, they laughed for a long time at the statue and spent time together, enjoying the sights and stories of the old town.

Lt: O Gediminas įsitikino, kad kartais net ir neįprastas nesusipratimas gali tapti geriausia dienos pradžia.
