Story Transcript:
En: On a sunny day, a joyful tune meandered through the narrow streets of Ljubljana.

En: Maja had returned home with a bouquet of colorful flowers in her hand.

En: She had gathered fresh flowers to decorate her garden, and there was nothing lovelier than spending a Saturday morning in nature.

En: Meanwhile, in the nearby Tivoli Park, Luka was spending the afternoon with his beloved turtle, whom he named Črt.

En: Luka considered Črt a special friend and often took him on outdoor outings to bask in the sun.

En: Upon arriving in her garden, Maja slowly arranged the flowers in the flowerbeds, occasionally adding some decorative stones.

Sl: Med cvetjem je zagledala velik, temno zelen kamen.
En: Among the flowers, she spotted a large, dark green stone.

En: “What an unusually interesting stone,” she thought as she picked it up and carried it to the other end of the garden, where she had space for such natural ornaments.

En: Meanwhile, Luka noticed that he was missing Črt.

En: His heart started racing, and he ran along the path where they had previously walked.

En: He searched everywhere, and instinct led him to Maja and her garden.

En: Suddenly, he spotted his Črt, motionless among the decorative stones in Maja’s garden.

Sl: “Maja!
En: “Maja!”

Sl: ” je zaklical.
En: he called out.

Sl: “Moj Črt!
En: “My Črt!

Sl: Kako je prišel sem?
En: How did he get here?”

Sl: “Maja je prebledela.
En: Maja turned pale.

Sl: “Ojoj, to ni dekorativni kamen?
En: “Oh dear, that’s not a decorative stone?”

Sl: ” je začudeno rekla in se hitro opravičila.
En: she said, bewildered, and quickly apologized.

Sl: Oba sta se začela smejati, ko je Luka razložil, kako pogosto ljudje zamenjajo Črta za kamen zaradi njegove posebne oblike in barve.
En: They both started laughing when Luka explained how often people mistake Črt for a stone due to his unique shape and color.

En: Gently, Luka picked up Črt and placed him back in a sunny spot in the park, where he could enjoy himself and feel safe.

En: Maja then designated a special corner in her garden for real stones and promised to pay more attention to her garden ornaments.

Sl: Od tistega dne sta Maja in Luka postala še boljša prijatelja in o Črtovi pustolovščini sta pripovedovala ob smehu vsem sosedom.
En: From that day on, Maja and Luka became even better friends, and they shared Črt’s adventure with laughter to all their neighbors.

En: The turtle stone became a true local landmark in Ljubljana, still talked about with smiles on their faces.

En: Luka was happy to have Črt back, and Maja always had a space ready in her garden for any future animal that she might mistake for a stone.
